Now I'm Artsy Wordy and Dorky

No More Daily Doses.

Here I am, not dead as promised. I apologize for not posting and such, but, and an elaboration will follow, I’m closing Flombaum Dot Com to be launched soon (a month?). Of course you still will be able to access this site although no new content will be posted till re-launch. Before I tell you why, let me tell you about my summer.

I worked for this company, Whitehaven, whose site I made, in the empire state building. That was fun, sorta. The biggest part of New York worth writing about is my friends. See, sometime in twelfth grade, when things where finally good with my parents, I realized that it is in fact easier on me if, when I was angry with my parents, I sucked it in, so to speak. What I mean is, since they weren’t even going to change or apologize for whatever they did, and talking to them about it only frustrated me and generally elevated the situation, it would beneficial to just get over it myself – especially because that was what I would have to do eventually anyway. And I guess as my relationship with them improved, I began acting the same way toward my friends and most other affairs. I would always be strong enough to internalize any anger I had in any situation. But this summer, I felt pretty down because of my friends. We weren’t associating with each other like we used to and it was making me really upset, mostly because I felt like I was the only one trying to get us to have a fun time. Well, no, not really, I felt unappreciated and taken advantage of, like I was living up to everyone’s expectations of me for the sake of each other but no one else was willing to live up to our friendships. It was a mind fuck because I didn’t know if the reason I hated them all was my fault or theirs. Obviously nothing is that black and white, but I mean, I couldn’t figure out who was reacting to what and it was driving me depressed. And then when it got too much with one of my friends, instead of just blowing up and yelling, thereby at least vocalizing my issues with their behavior, I just shut down. I couldn’t talk to her, I couldn’t look at her, I just had to get away. But she wasn’t having that and got me to talk and then apologized and such. That was when I realized what had been happening, the correlation between how I react to my parents and how I react to everyone else. It was inappropriate of me to be angry and not tell them, needless to say, it was wrong of them to make me feel so uncomfortable. My last night in New York, I invited all my friends to my favorite Irish Pub. I asked them to be there at 10:30 and not to be late, no one came before 11:30. It was really upsetting…I mean I know its not a big deal, but it’s the best not to personal example I can give. So that was New York.

And then I was in Israel. Which was great. And now I’m in school, which is great too.

So why am I closing the site? Well I don’t want to write daily doses anymore. And as that is the essential content of this site, I need to redesign the site to adapt to the content I know want to write. Simple, right? So be good till I get back. And I may update every so often to let you know when I’m re-launching, so check back.
