oh yeh
Now I'm Artsy Wordy and Dorky

I Am A God

I am a god. Of course, I could say this sentence and not need to write a story about why that is true; my readers know already, they don't need a reminder. But for the 30 or so people who just happened on this site, I will. On State St (main street of UW's campus - where I live), there is my glasses store Spex. Last friday, the arm band on my glasses broke a bit and I dropped the pair off monday. I was informed today that my glasses were ready at my store for me to pick them up. After being congratulated on the remarkable work I did for Global Hedger, I was in a great mood and thought I would go pick up my glasses. So I changed, washed my face, fixed my hair, and put on my cool belt. Why? Why did I prepare so much for getting my glasses? As you may have guessed because of the really hot chick who works at Spex and whom I've been dying to ask out.

As I entered Spex, she was walking out. Instinct said hello as she passed me in the doorway. I picked up my glasses and tried them on in the mirrors they have for checking yourself out. But I wasn't really looking at me, I was looking at what that attractive clerk was doing outside. She was smoking. Here was a predicment, I just quit smoking. Also, I woke up not feeling so well. Also, I had a Halls sucking candy in my mouth, to releave my cold/flu symptoms. My decision came as I cracked into the halls in my mouth and began swollowing the candy. I would ask her for a ciggerette. I began thinking about the conversation we would have while we smoked. And before I knew it, I was in front of her and asking her for a ciggerette in the most non-Avi voice I could muster. Fate it would seem was not into this, because that was her last ciggerette. Defeated, I blurted out something about just quitting and always asking people I see smoking of a ciggerette so I don't buy a pack myself. She laughed and asked if I wanted a drag of hers. Use your imagination here, because it was bright outside, and I swear, I SWEAR, that she squinted at me in a manner only worthy of being described as Lauren Bacall-esq. I said sure, and inahled deeply as I did my best to look as sexy as she did in the summer sun. As I exhaled I handed her ciggertte back. Right at the point that our hands made a slight contact, I said, so do you want to go out sometime? She put on a face of regret and said, oh I have a boyfriend.

What was I to do? The first time I ever ask out a complete stranger and she has one of those fucking things that I have sworn of as my arch-nemesis. The boyfriend. This seemed like the longest moment ever, and I think in retrospect that it must have been an eternity. Basically, only an eternity of time to ponder the best of all possible responses to this statement would suffice. Well being a god, I only needed a split second to come up with the best answer to her having a boyfriend and me asking her out, "well I dont care." She laughed and asked me if I had a pen. No, I didnt I informed and continued, I wasnt very prepaired for this. But I hinted at the random casual charm I wielded with such ease as a pen. And she walked inside and wrote her number on the biz card and folded it in half and she gave it to me. And I told her I would call her sometime and we would make plans to do something fun.

I can't believe you finally did it! And then, of course, the drasted boyfriend. Please don't be the typical Avi--- try to be respectful to her boyfriend, huh? :) I'm thinking of you! This is the first time I've gotten to read your site in a long time- hardly any computer access here. lots of love, m

Ahh, fuck 'im. How would anyone find true love if they listened to advice like that, Emily? Romeo and Juliet would never have gotten it on if Romeo had just respected Paris. Of course, they'd still be alive, too. Hm. Ahh, fuck 'im.

that actually does sound smooth, any other thing that you could have said would have left you looking, however ballsy, really pothetic. Kudos to you for the snapy line, and em(HI!), maybe her boyfriend is a big time jerk . . .

the thing about boyfriends is that if the girls really like them they won't cheat. so why not be the tester, avi? i'm sure that's what you were thinking :) enjoy the summer...

Okay Koleen, after discussing your comment with my roomate, we've decided that we don't know you. Can you confirm or deny this? And to your comment, no that isn't true. So everyone knows, this girl, Amy, came over last night, turns out she is 17, so no pooty, but she had called to tell me she is bringing someone. Now, I thought that was her boyfriend, the vagueness of the "somebody" surely suggested that, right? But when I opened the door, there was another hot chick with her. Either she had no boyfriend and was just trying to not give me her #, or as I believe, boyfriends are not mountains and are easily removed by guys with cool earings and awesome hair.
