oh yeh
Now I'm Artsy Wordy and Dorky

Honk if You're Lonely Tonight

*Radio's on, feeling all right

Cruising the strip on a Saturday night.

I smile and I wave and I hide all my pain

but the sign on my bumper gives me away:

Honk if you're lonely tonight

If you need a friend to get through the night

A toot on your horn, a flash of your brights

Honk if you're lonely tonight.

I know honky-tonk where we can go.

A booth in the back with the lights way down low.

The jukebox is playing a sad melody

for heart-broken lovers like you and me.

We'll laugh and we'll flirt and we'll dance every dance

and before the night's over we'll take a chance.

The morning will find us with a smile on our face

and we'll be together in a lover's embrace.

I know it seems sad to be so damn blue

but there's always the chance that you'll meet someone new.

I know that somewhere waiting for me

is a sad lonely lover with a bumper that reads:

Honk if you're lonely tonight.

I built my desk yesterday. My computer desk. It took me three hours. It was really hardwork. My hands are still sore. And of course, after building the desk, I sat in my chair and thought about it. So far I've cleaned, and now, I'm done building. Get it? Clean and built. So I here is where I generally get lost. Everything is all ready for success. But...you know? It isn't here. I think once everything is ready, you're just suppose to use it and live in it. So that is what I am going to do.

I wrote a poem two days ago, but I'm conflicted as to which version I like better (the rhyming one - which is better poetically, or the not rhyming one, which is better conceptually.) Monday I am going to write an essay for the site about "What Art is." and finally clear up all this confusion. My brother said not to substitute potential for sucess. Pretty cool dude, right? okay, I've got an english essay to write now. Peace out yall.

I just did something really wierd. I followed a link to CNN's chronology of September 11th 2001. Man, I can't believe that is real. And it is so wierd, it reads like a movie. Can't believe it. Something is really fucked up with this world. Really...how do they make us feel like this?

know whats sad about that song: on the one hand the imagery is so rich. there dancing and dancing. the juke box is playing etc. BUT really the verbs are all in the future (subjective i think) tense. its really" well dance and well dance." whats really happening in the song is that hes just diriving around lonely, even though the images grab your attention so much you think they are happening. gotta be careful about verb use. no one substitues potential for success on purpose, sometimes we let potential be a substitue though. the verbs are transitive. i can't wait to read about what art is. if its anything as good as this post, itll be amazing. oh, and when your hands stop feeling sore, thats when potential snuck in.
