Yatta

The following essay applies to The Yatta Video (requires Windows Media Player ~7mb).

This triple patnium cd by a band from Japan called "Green Leaves" has produced a music video that seriously summarazises modern media for the past 5 years. This brilliantly tacky music video is a critique of music and video, using techniques such as posing stills and dance sequences I cannot get enough of. The catchy song repeats the chorus at least ten times, imbedding it into your head worse than "Oops I did it again." See the video once, see it again, and then think about why this group is popular? Perhaps I am not illustrating my point well, but the video is a satire that isn't a satire, sardonically making the dumbest thing ever, but its good. Scary.

you stole that summarizing line from me.

I regularly steal material from Avi's blog; I find myself idly uttering lines and phrases I discover here in my everyday conversations. So it all evens out.

Zev that isn't stealing, we joke about summarizing modern thought all the time.
