Here are some things I love about New York:
That's all I can think off, in no particular order. My second film review is being published tommorow in the Badger Herald on Igby Goes Down.
Two quick things:
"Down" on the Lam - My Review in the Badger Herald.
So it is 12am Monday Morning. I have a lot of work, and yeh, everyone who has been reading this website must know of my less then graceful work ethic. I procrastinate, I do things in a halfass manner and such...Mostly, I dedicate myself only to the things that really interest me, and that is writing and film. So while I have my Badger review in by the deadline every sunday, I don't have my essays ready. That said, I was lucky enough to stumble onto a study lesson in my Bradley Fellow's - Em - room. She was reading to these two girls and my darling roommate. Right. So I started dancing and prancing in a manner hysterical to distract them from hearing about how hard they should be working and such. Here is why: My friend Mark - who I've really grown to appreciate - said that the reason he wanted to go to a "good" college is for the kids. He wants to learn from people. Well I think that in college you learn most from people not classes. From TAs and your friends and the community, just as Mark said. Everyone has something to teach. The thing I want my friends to understand is that they are going to have the rest of their lives to be resbonsible. Years with babies growing up, school tuitions, medical bills, morgages, where missing something like a credit card payment really matters. But now, in college, they should be learning about themselves and not just doing what they are told to do by teachers. These kids must figure out who they are or they are going to be products of society - just like SPAM. That's sad to me that they gather with my Bradley Fellow who has so much to teach about life via her voice alone to learn about study habbits. To get scared into studying harder, learning less. So to all you study hogs who are reading this, don't be like me, I am an extreme, but realize that grades mean shit. Have fun, learn about yourself, experience college and don't just experience your classes. And I know you think you are, but just answer this question: What is the biggest thing you regret doing or are ashamed of and why did you do it? If you can't answer that question, well how well have you studied your own history in comparison to our countries? What's more important.
